Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use your libraries with Native Instruments’ free Kontakt Player?
Yes, but with limitations. Currently they will work for 15 minutes in demo mode, after which you have to close the program and start again. Therefore unless you’re able to tollerate that, I can only advice having the full licenced version of Kontakt for my libraries.
To make sample libraries work without limits in the free player, library developers have to buy a licence from Native Instruments (I’ve heard four-figure sums mentioned). As a small “cottage industry” with libraries costing around £4 on average, this is just not feasible for me.
Can I just use the samples without Kontakt?
Yes. Provided the software or device you wish to use them with accepts 24bit 44.1kHz mono or stereo WAV files. This is something you will need to determine for yourself.
Note that the rhythm patterns on the drum machine libraries are re-created via kontakt scripts that trigger the individual drum samples. This allows for far greater flexibility and behaves more or less like a real drum machine. It means the patterns are only available within Kontakt however.
Will you be updating all your libraries with Kontakt 4 style graphics?
This is certainly my intention. It’s just a matter of time.
