The Staff
Staff? What Staff? Actually, there’s just me (Barry) here at Forgotten Keys HQ. I take care of the instrument buying and repairing if I can (there’s usually something broken!), recording, editing, Kontakt instrument creating, web site creating and updating, demo song writing and recording, email answering… all in my spare time. I’m not an expert at any of it but I know just enough to get by, and I prefer doing things myself where possible.
At the time of writing no-one has asked, but I’ll set the record straight: I’m not on YouSpace, Tweety-pie, YouBend etc. I can do email though! (up to a point).
Recording and Sampling
All samples from my libraries are recorded straight from the instrument in question with volume attenuators set to max and no effects or EQ added. Starting from February 2012 all instruments are now recorded via a high-end Mytek Stereo96 A/D converter for the best possible sound.
Kontakt Libraries
I prefer to keep my Kontakt libraries affordable but please don’t look at the prices and think that the libraries must be inferior quality! I take great care over them and spend many hours creating them. Also, when I update a library, I send out a free update even if the new version has been completely re-created with all new samples.
The Future
I’d like to think that I will eventually update all my libraries for Kontakt 4 or higher and that I’ll keep finding interesting things to turn into new libraries.
